Shorebirds Lost 3rd Straight To BlueClaws

Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds lost their third straight game today to the BlueClaws 5-4. The Shorebirds scored runs in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd to build a 3-0 lead. Heading into the 5th, Sebastian Vader was rolling for the Shorebirds, but it came unraveled there.

The BlueClaws took advantage of a couple tough calls against the home team. It started with a would be inning ending double play that the runner was called safe up the first base line. Following that, Mike Yastrzemski miss played a ball in the outfield and allowed two more runs to score.

The Shorebirds kept battling, and would add a run in the 9th, but could never get back into the game. The Shorebirds now play host to the Hickory Crawdads for a three-game series, the first meeting between the division foes. Right-hander Luc Rennie (2-5, 5.53) will start for Delmarva against Hickory right-hander Akeem Bostick (2-3, 4.65). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm at Perdue Stadium.
