Salisbury, MD.- The Delmarva Shorebirds bounced back in a big way Thursday night, ending a three game losing streak and shutting out the Lakewood BlueClaws, 4-0. Mitch Horacek and Jon Keller both with phenomenal games on the mound leading Delmarva to the shutout.

Coming into the evening, Horacek had not allowed an earned run in his last two starts. The left-hander pushed his consecutive scoreless innings streak to 18 after going six innings while allowing just four hits.

After stranding the bases loaded in both the second and third innings, Delmarva finally got on the board in the fourth after Conor Bierfeldt led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Anthony Vega followed with a RBI triple, making it 1-0. Mike Yastrzemski would then blast a one run double to left center field, pushing the lead to 2-0.

Delmarva would add runs in the fifth and sixth innings, doubling the lead to 4-0. With his triple in the sixth, Trey Mancini pushed his hitting streak to 16 games, the longest by any Shorebird this season. Reliever Jon Keller came in and pitched three scoreless innings to close out the game.

The Shorebirds will continue their four-game series with Lakewood on Friday evening. Left-hander Luis Gonzalez (1-0, 2.30) will start for Delmarva, first pitch is scheduled for 7:05 at Perdue Stadium.
