Investigation Underway Into Death Of UMES Student In Princess Anne

Posted: Updated:

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Police say they are investigating the death of a University of Maryland Eastern Shore graduate student, who was found dead in his apartment on Thursday morning.

Maryland State Police say they started investigating the death of a 34-year-old Kevin Green, after a friend reportedly found him dead in his apartment. Officials say the friend went to check on Green at his Stewart Neck Road apartment after not hearing from him since June 3, and after Green reportedly didn't show up for classes on Wednesday.

Police responded to the residence just after 9:30 a.m., after Green's friend reportedly forced his way into the apartment when Green didn't answer the door. Officials say Green was found on his bed, and emergency medical services determined he was deceased.

Investigators say there were no signs of foul play in the apartment, and no signs of obvious trauma on Green's body. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will perform an autopsy to find Green's cause and manner of death. MSP tells 47 ABC it could be complete in the next few days, and toxicology reports could take a few weeks.

The investigation is still on-going at this time.
