Westover House Fire That Caused $70K In Damages, Under Investigation

WESTOVER, Md. - The cause of a Thursday morning house fire in Westover, is currently under investigation.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office says a passerby discovered the blaze, which reportedly started just after 11:25 AM, at a single story home on Tips Lane. The flames reportedly took 20 firefighters, from four area companies, 45 minutes to control. The blaze reportedly cause an estimated $70,000 in total damages.

The home did apparently have working smoke detectors. Officials say there were no injuries reported. The Fire Marshal's Office says both how, and where the fire started remains under investigation, at this time. The residents of the home have been displaced, and are apparently receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.
