Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A Fruitland man has been convicted in an October 2013 shooting, that left one person injured.

On Wednesday in a Wicomico County courtroom, a jury convicted 30-year-old Clifton Salaam, of attempted 1st degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, wear, carry, and transport a handgun, and firearm possession by a person prohibited.

The charges stem from an October 13th, 2013 incident, where a victim was shot in the abdomen at a home on Green Street, in Fruitland. The victim was reportedly hospitalized for around two months, following the shooting.

Salaam's sentencing has apparently been deferred to a future date.
