MILLSBORO, Del. - A Millsboro man has been arrested, in connection to a home improvement scam. Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden says his Consumer Protection Unit has arrested 42-year-old Eric Lepkowski after he apparently tried to defraud a 68-year-old Sussex County homeowner.

Earlier this year, the Consumer Protection Unit of the Attorney General's office says they started investigating Lepkowski, after a Rehoboth Beach homeowner reportedly gave him more than $10,000 for a job that is still not completed. According to the report, Lepkowski reportedly used the victim's credit card number to purchase $1,500 worth of unauthorized items, including tools not needed for the project. Lepkowski also reportedly did not use materials purchased specifically for the project, in the project. Officials say the work was also not done to code, and Lepkowski was not licensed in the City of Rehoboth, or by the State of Delaware to perform electrical or plumbing work, both of which were included in the project.

On Friday, Lepkowski turned himself in, and was charged with one count of home improvement fraud, one count of theft from a senior, three counts of unlawful use of a credit card, and three counts of identity theft. He was released after posted $10,000 bond.

Eric Lepkowski was previously convicted of home improvement fraud in 2009. Officials are asking anyone was may have been a victim of Lepkowski, or just has information to share, call Special Investigator Dan Daly in the Consumer Protection Unit at 302-752-3215.
