NEW CASTLE, Del. (AP) - The Delaware National Guard is saying goodbye to approximately 20 members deploying to southwest Asia.

The Guard is hosting a departure ceremony Monday at the Army Aviation Support Facility in New Castle. The ceremony is for members of an aeromedical evacuation unit, which can evacuate troops from the battlefield and stabilize patients en route to a hospital. The group is scheduled for a year-long active duty tour.

After leaving Delaware, the group will go to Fort Hood in Texas for six weeks of training.
