Maryland State Police Seeking Veterans to Join Force

Posted: Updated:

MARYLAND - State Police are looking to add to their ranks with military veterans.

Maryland State Police say they are actively searching for military veterans from all branches of the service to join 'Maryland's Finest.' Gov. Martin O'Malley has a new initiative called Operation Hire: Maryland's 100 Day Veteran Hiring Challenge.

Colonel Marcus L. Brown, Superintendent of the Maryland State Police says "We welcome military veterans interested in law enforcement employment. Veterans bring positive skills to the job including leadership, physical fitness, discipline and technical training. The dedicated men and women who serve our country and those who serve our state embody the same values of integrity, fairness and service. Military service is a natural crossover into the Maryland State Police."
