Delmarva Power Testing Energy Wise Customers Equipment Wednesday

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A heads up for households who participate in a local power company's conservation program.

Delmarva Power says on Wednesday, May 28th from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, they will be running a test conservation period for their Energy Wise Rewards program customers. Officials say this trial run, where participants' air conditioner compressors will cycle for short intervals, will test the equipment before the height of the summer season.

Delmarva Power says customers should not notice a temperature change in their homes, and air conditioners could take up to a half-hour to get back to regular operations after the test. Energy Wise Rewards is a voluntary program which gives Delmarva Power customers a choice of a programmable thermostat, or an outdoor switch that is installed at no charge, which then allows the air conditioner to be cycled off during periods of peak electric demand.

The program helps reduce electricity use, and gives customers who participate a discount on their bill. Delmarva Power customers can learn more about Energy Wise Rewards by calling 1-866-353-5799 or visiting the Delmarva Power website.
