DOVER, Del. - Police say they are investigating an early morning shooting in Dover, that left one man injured.

Delaware State Police say just after 1:00 AM on Tuesday, Troopers responded to the 200 block of South Governors Avenue, in the Capital Park Development, for reports of gunshots being fired. Once on scene, Troopers say they found a 19-year-old male, who had been shot twice in the lower portion of his upper torso.

The victim was rushed to a local hospital by EMS, where he was treated for non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. According to the report, several homes in the areas were damaged by gunfire, but there were no other injuries reported.

Detectives say they haven't been able to gather any suspect information from the victim, except that there were two males dressed all in black. The investigation into this incident is reportedly on-going at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. S. Doherty at 302-741-2817 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Tips can also be submitted to the DSP Mobile Crime App, texting DSP to CRIMES (274637), or by visiting the TipSubmit website.
