Huey Veterans Memorial Unveiled In Ocean City

Posted: Updated:

OCEAN CITY, Md. - The town of Ocean City held a ceremony today to honor veterans across the country.

The town unveiled a memorial plaque for Huey, a helicopter that served every branch of the military and a number of government agencies over 48 years. Ocean City was reportedly notified by the army that it was available back in 2005, and shortly after, the Ocean City Aviation Administration began years of work to restore the aircraft.

"The display is here for people to enjoy and we wish they come out and take a look at this," says Thomas Oneto, president of OCAA. "It's for them, especially the veterans."

The memorial is currently on display at the Ocean City Municipal Airport. For more information, visit OCAA's website.
