Driver Identified In Fatal Lincoln Crash

LINCOLN, Del. - The driver killed in a fiery crash in Lincoln, last week, has been identified.

Delaware State Police say, 48-year-old Paul Spencer of Lincoln, was driving a Pontiac Firebird heading north on Cedar Creek Road, when he entered the southbound lane into the path of an oncoming dump truck. He swerved to correct, but wound up back in the truck's path. The two collided and both vehicles were sent into a roadside ditch.

According to the report, the Firebird went up in flames with Spencer still inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.The driver of the dump truck, 65-year-old James Daisey of Lincoln, was transported to the hospital, treated for minor injuries and released.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing its investigation of this crash and no charges have been filed.
