Parkside Rams fall short in state title game

Posted: Updated:

ABERDEEN, Md. -- The Parkside baseball team were looking to make history at Cal Ripken Stadium in the state championship game against Southern Anne Arundel. That feat fell short as the Rams lost 3-2 against the Bulldogs.

The Rams were on board first in the second inning with an RBI single by Adam McKinney.

Top of the fourth, Nik Forbush makes it home after Brady Shreeves hits one down the third base line.

In the bottom of the seventh, Southern's Garret Gibson hit a single to center field with the bases loaded. That play, would end the game.

"We say it everyday. It's on the back of our warm-up jerseys. We always place the team first. We will never accept defeat, we will never quit. We live by that game to game and day to day. So our mentality was to just never give up and to keep playing. We know we can come back, we could come back. We just ....we didn't lose.. we ran out of innings," senior Kyle Schilling said.
