Pittsville Man Arrested For Hit-And-Run

Posted: Updated:

HEBRON, Md. -A Pittsville man is arrested in connection to a hit-and-run investigation near Hebron.

The incident occurred Tuesday at 8:23PM on Crooked Oak Lane.  Police responded to a report of a collision between a motorcycle and a pedestrian.  According to investigators, the driver of the  motorcycle fled the area after hitting the pedestrian. A responding deputy spotted the motorcycle on Nanticoke Road and attempted to stop it, but the driver attempted to flee.  This caused a high speed chase that ended when the officer sided on the err of caution on Old Ocean City Road in the area of Beaglin Park Drive

Later in the day, a different deputy observed the suspect riding on Walston Switch Road and pursued him until the rider decided to stop on Mt. Hermon Rd in the area of Forest Grove Road.  The driver of the motorcycle, identified as 23-year-old Jean Cabrera-Oliveras, was taken into custody for both fleeing and eluding and leaving the scene of an accident involving injury.

The pedestrian struck was transported to PRMC to be treated for their injuries.
