Sen. Carper Proposes Bill To Beef Up Cybersecurity

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -  In the global fight against hacking, the U.S. government is having a tough time attracting talented minds to the cause of defending the country online.

Delaware Senator Tom Carper wants to change that, introducing a bill that would allow the Department of Homeland Security to hire more cyber experts.

That expanded hiring authority is something already afforded to the National Security Agency and the Department of Defense.

This proposal comes just days after the U.S. charged the Chinese government for hacking American businesses, and after reports of a massive global hack that allowed remote access to web cams.
