Information Sought On Salisbury Fraud Suspect

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Police in Salisbury are warning of a fraud scam reportedly happening in a local senior citizen community.

Salisbury Police say on Monday, around 1:40 PM an unknown black female went door to door of the apartments in Gateway Village on Route 50, saying that she was with "the center" and needed to see the medications of the residents. At one apartment, the resident brought the subject on her porch a bottle of Oxycontin (Oxycodone) for her to review, at one point she asked the resident for some food to eat.

According to the report, the resident went back inside, and made the subject some food, then came back outside. The subject reportedly stated that she was finished, and left the apartment. Police sat the resident then counted her medication, and realized that the suspect had stolen five tablets of Oxycontin.

The suspect is described as a black female, 45-years-old, weighting 170 pounds, last seen wearing a dark in color jacket, driving a small blue vehicle, with an unknown make or model. Police say anyone who is approached by the suspect should not give her any personal information, or allow the person to examine their medications, but should contact Police, and try to get a description of the suspect.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Salisbury Police at 410-548-3165 or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776. Crime Solvers is offering an up to $1,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
