DELMAR, MD -- The 2014 boys lacrosse state tournament started Monday night with the Delmar Wildcats taking on the Middletown Cavaliers at Francis E. Nunvar stadium. The Cavaliers were quickly on the board first grabbing a 2-0 lead.  The Wildcats would respond with a goal from Hunter Gilmore, who manages to wrestle his way through several defenders who had swarmed him.

By halftime Delmar was only down by two. Larry Gilmore would score to tie 5-5 with 6:43 left in the third quarter. The Wildcats would continue to fight but would fall short in the first round. The Cavaliers relied heavily on Connor Swalm, who finished with six goals for the night.
