Posted: Updated:

PITTSVILLE, Md. - A Pittsville man is behind bars, after he allegedly threw a glass bottle at the vehicle next to him at a traffic light.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says on Friday, they arrested 25-year-old Jakeup Bowden, in connection to a May 1st incident. According to the report, Bowden threw a glass bottle at the vehicle next to him, while stopped at a light at Walston Switch Road and Ocean Gateway.

Police say that vehicle then followed Bowden to his home, on Bob Smith Road, at which point Bowden apparently pulled out a shotgun, and started firing into the air. Bowden reportedly told Police that he was attempting to scare the people away.

Bowden was arrested, and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, and malicious destruction of property. He is now being held at the Detention Center on $275,000 bond.
