Kelly Brittingham Honored With "Teacher Who Makes A Difference" Award

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Tuesday, 47 ABC made a special surprise visit to West Salisbury Elementary school to recognize a remarkable teacher.

Kelly Brittingham was honored with 47 ABC and Accurate Optical's "Teacher Who Makes A Difference" award, for the month of April. Currently teaching first grade, this is Ms. Brittingham's fourth year as an educator. She says the key to being a good teacher is being consistent and making lessons fun for the kids.

We asked her why she loves teaching so much.

"It's rewarding when you've been working on a kid on something. It could just be the smallest thing, and then they finally -- light bulb comes on and they learn it one day, and you're like, yay, you finally have it. And that's just really rewarding, really exciting. It's nice to know that I can touch so many little lives," she said.
