LEWES, DELAWARE -- Five-time defending state champion Cape Henlopen could be well on their way to a sixth title after defeating Caesar Rodney 20-6 in the first round of the state tournament.

The Vikings were on the board first with a goal by Karissa LeMaire. Seconds after, Alexa Woodruff finds Allie Yeager. That would bring the Vikings up 2-0, in just minutes after the first half started.

The Riders' Abigail Wearden would score the first goal for them, off a pass from Delaney Steele.

The Vikings continued to push through as they saw themselves with a 13-4 lead at halftime.

The Riders would score two more goals in the second half.

The No.1 Vikings defeat the No.8 Riders 20-6.

The semifinals are set for May 20. Sites and times TBD.
