Three Salisbury Teens Accused Of Assault

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Three Salisbury teenagers have been charged with assault, after they allegedly attacked a man outside of a party.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says on April 26th, around 11:15 PM, Deputies from the Sheriff's Office, and other area police agencies, responded to a large fight in progress in the parking lot of the Elks Club on Churchill Avenue in Salisbury.

An investigation showed that the 34-year-old male victim had tried to break up a fight between juvenile females, when he was attacked by 18-year-old Lashawn Betts, 17-year-old Karon Washington, and a 14-year-old male. The victim was reportedly punched repeatedly, then kicked in the head and body after he fell to the ground. Police say the victim had to be transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center by ambulance. The three teens were apparently at the Elks Club, attending a private party, in a rented hall.

All three were taken into custody on May 13th and 14th, and charged with 1st and 2nd degree assault, and reckless endangerment. Butts and Washington, who is charged as an adult, were held at the Detention Center, while the juvenile was held at the Lower Eastern Shore Children's Center.
