DE Senator Fights To End Pensions For Convicted Felons

DELAWRE - Under Delaware law, government employees, convicted of serious felonies, can still keep their pension, but a new bill hopes to change that.

Republican Senator Ernie Lopez of Lewes is pushing a bill, which would keep those convicted of violent crimes such as murder and rape from collecting their pension behind bars.

Because of legal restrictions, the bill could only apply to those whose pension rights have not yet acquired full ownership of the benefit when the bill would become law.
