REHOBOTH, Del. - A Rehoboth man has been arrested in connection to the death of one of his twin sons.

The Delaware State Police say on Saturday, around 11:30 AM, paramedics and EMS responded to a room at the Sea Esta Motel on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth, after 21-year-old Sidney Davis III called 911, saying his 3-month-old son was not breathing and was unresponsive. The infant, Zhaden Davis, was then rushed by authorities to Beebe Medical Center, where they were reportedly able to establish a heartbeat.

According to the report, further examination of the infant revealed that he had suffered a traumatic brain bleed, which had likely caused him to become unconscious. Zhaden was then air-lifted to A.I. DuPont Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.

Police say on Sunday, the infant was pronounced dead, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy, ruling the cause and manner of death to be homicide, due to head trauma.

Homicide Detectives say Sidney Davis was brought in by family members on Tuesday, to Troop 4 in Georgetown, where they interviewed him. That interview reportedly revealed that Zhaden and his twin brother were in the care of their father from Friday night into Saturday morning, while their mother was away. Police say at one point on Friday night, the infant became upset and was crying, when Davis started shaking him, in an apparent attempt to quiet the baby. According to the report, this happened again on Saturday morning, just after the mother of the twins briefly visited with them in the room, before going to work. Police say soon after the second incident is when Sidney Davis called 911, to report the emergency.

Davis was charged with murder by neglect or abuse 1st, and is being held at Sussex Correctional Institution on $100,000.00 cash bond. Police say the other male twin was uninjured in the incidents, and is in the care of his mother.
