Two Charged In Burglary Of West OC Home

Posted: Updated:

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. - Police say they caught two people, as they were apparently breaking into a West Ocean City home.

The Worcester County Sheriff's Office says around 1:50 PM on Monday, an anonymous caller reported seeing two suspicious people walking around a Riggin Ridge Road home, and looking in the windows.

A Deputy responded to the area, and was walking towards the home, when a white male came from behind the house. He was immediately detained. Police say while speaking with the suspect, 35-year-old Joseph Slabaugh, a white female exited the front door of the home, ran down the front steps, and tried to run behind the house, but was also apprehended.

The entrance door of the residence had reportedly been forced open.

Slabaugh, and 33-year-old Brandenburg Sandifer, both of Brooklyn, Maryland, were charged with 1st, 3rd, and 4th degree burglary. Sandifer was additionally charged with false statement to a law enforcement officer. They are both being held at the Worcester County Jail on a $15,000 bond, each.
