UPDATE: Suspect Sought After Shooting In Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Police say they are still searching for a suspect, after an afternoon shooting at a Salisbury shopping center.

Salisbury Police say on Tuesday, around 2:15 PM, they received reports of an assault with a firearm in Wali Plaza, on Parsons Road. An investigation revealed that the victim, 20-year-old Arnell Bivens Jr., was shot once in the lower torso, before the suspect fled on foot, towards Pemberton Manor Apartments.

The victim was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, where he is listed in stable condition. Police say they shut down the area for approximately two hours, while they searched for the suspect.

The Wicomico County Board of Education held students who live in the area at Pemberton Elementary School, until they could meet with their families.

Police say their investigation is on-going at this time, and are still searching for the suspect. The suspect is described as a black male, in his late teens, 5' 9" tall, with a thin build, last seen wearing a white shirt.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Salisbury Police at 410-548-3165, or Crime Solvers at 410-548-1776. Crime Solvers is offering an up to $1,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest.
