SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Salisbury University men's and women's track & field teams traveled to the Swarthmore Final Qualifier on Monday evening in another chance for athlete to improve their national rankings heading into the NCAA Division III Track & Field Outdoor Championships.
It was another incredibly successful meet as the Sea Gulls earned a school record and a number of personal records at the meet. Thomas Burke broke his own school record in the 800-meter and moved up from 20th in the nation too 18th. Dylan Burkett also had a season best effort in the shot put of 53' 11", which currently stands 12th in the nation. Tyler Austin earned a pair of top-10 finishes, placing fourth in the 200-meter dash.
For the women, Kara Tolson earned a pair of top-10 finishes on Monday, placing third in the 200-meter dash. Sadie Mangold placed fourth in the hammer throw, covering 152' 0", her best effort this year. Alex Greissinger finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 1:06.32.
Some of the Sea Gulls will have one last opportunity at improving their marks this Friday as the SU Track & Field plays host to the Salisbury Last Chance Meet.
