SU Baseball Heads To Marietta For Regionals

Posted: Updated:

INDIANAPOLIS  – The Salisbury University baseball team found out they will be heading to Marietta College for the NCAA Regional round after they earned the 3 seed in the bracket. SU earned an automatic qualifier thanks to winning the Capital Athletic Conference tournament.

In the double-elimination bracket, teams will have a chance to play til they accumulate two losses. On Wednesday, May 14. Salisbury will take on sixth-seeded John Carroll University in the opening-round game, the time is to be announced.

Marietta earned the top seed followed by Case Western Reserve University as the No. 2 seed. Their bracket also includes Widener University, La Roche College, John Carroll, Thomas More College and Penn State University Berks.

The only team in the regional that Salisbury has met in baseball is Marietta. The Sea Gulls have split four games against the Pioneers. Salisbury swept a regular-season doubleheader in 2006 and the Pioneers have won two meetings in the World Series in 2001 and 2011.
