Bike To Work Week Kicks Off In Salisbury

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - If you see more bikers across Salisbury than usual this week, it's not just because of the nice weather.

In honor of national Bike To Work Week, members with "Bike-SBY" rode with Salisbury City Council President Jake Day to his council meeting tonight from Salisbury University. The group's main focus is to establish a high-quality network of bike lanes, which could do more than create opportunities for cyclists.

"Biking breeds culture and culture is anchored in place, the more people engaged with their environment the more likely are, it's proven, to spend money in local businesses," says Day. "It's really a good thing all around for our community."
