Seaford School District Lock Down Lifted After Reports Of Nearby Shooting

SEAFORD, Del. - A local school district has lifted their district wide lock down, after reports of a shooting outside of a nearby bank.

Seaford School District officials say the entire district was locked down, after reports came in of a shooting outside of West Seaford Branch of the PNC Bank. Police say there were two vehicles reportedly shooting at each other, nearby.

Officials advised the school to go on lock down, around 1:40 PM which was then expanded to be district wide. The District says they lifted the lock down at 2:10 PM, after conferring with the Seaford Police Department.

Police say there were no injuries reported, no suspects arrested, and there is no cause of concern at this time, in regards to the shooting.

Seaford School District says they sent the following message to parents about the lock down.

"At approximately 1:40 p.m., there was a shooting incident with weapons fired in the vicinity of the West Seaford Branch of the PNC Bank.  As a precautionary measure, all Seaford School District schools were put on external lock down, which was lifted after consultation with the Seaford Police Department at 2:10 p.m. All schools are safe and operational."
