DOVER, Del. - Dover Air Force Base has lifted the lock down, after reports of a suspicious person on base.

Officials say they received reports of a suspicious person around 11:00 AM, near building 706. Base officials say they then implemented base lock down, instructing all personnel to shelter in place. The lock down was reportedly lifted at 2:40 PM, with normal operations resumed.

Col. Randy Huiss, 436th Airlift Wing vice wing commander says "We apologize for any inconvenience and confusion this response may have caused. However, these measures were taken to ensure the safety of the base populace as we investigated the reports and found them to be false."
