PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Delaware State University softball team picked up a pair of wins Saturday afternoon after they defeated University of Maryland Eastern Shores 11-3 and 8-2. The losses drop the Lady Hawks to 7-39 overall (4-11 MEAC) while Delaware State moved to 31-15 (14-3MEAC) on the season.
In Game One, DSU quickly jumped out a 4-0 lead. The Hawks would respond with a run of their own off a Hornets error in the bottom of the third. After a scoreless fourth inning, Delaware State padded their lead with three more runs in the fifth making it 7-1. Both teams would exchange runs from there til the Hornets ultimately took it, 11-3.
In game two, the Hornets would against take the lead early after a solo home fun.The Hawks would respond with a run of their own to tie the game at 1-1, but the Hornets would break it open with a 7 run 6th inning.
Tomorrow these two teams will square off again.
