Correspondents Dinner Promises A Night Of Humor

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama is joining journalists, government officials, politicians and media personalities at the annual dinner of the White House Correspondents' Association.

The evening of humor and celebrity gazing has become an annual tradition in the nation's capital.

First lady Michelle Obama is with the president at the black-tie event at the Washington Hilton Hotel.

Ahead of the dinner Saturday night, Obama spent the afternoon golfing at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, with three White House aides.

The star of the NBC series "Community," Joel McHale, is the dinner's featured entertainer.
