SALISBURY, Md. - The countdown is on for the Maryland gubernatorial primary elections, with less than two months to go, candidates are touring the state.

47 ABC caught up with David Craig (R) during his tour of Worcester and Wicomico Counties.

The current Harford County Executive says the core of his campaign is based on lower taxes, increasing the number of jobs, and keeping people in Maryland.

Craig believes it's important for state lawmakers to keep how laws can impact each part of the state.

"All of the Eastern Shore, because they're forgotten in Annapolis, have different issues from center Maryland or Western Maryland," says Craig, "we have to look at all of it...together...and make sure when we do done thing, it doesn't have a negative impact on some counties and a positive impact on others."

Craig is one of five candidates in the Republican primary for governor of Maryland.

The primary election is scheduled for June 24th.
