Career Learning For Fruitland's Next Generation

Posted: Updated:

FRUITLAND, Md. - Delmarva's next generation of bright young minds may be one step closer to deciding their future.

Fruitland Intermediate 5th graders picked the brains of local workers at their 16th annual career fair learning about NASA, the life as a nurse and even the news industry.

47 ABC's Kody Leibowitz was there and he said the kids turned the tables on him by asking the tough questions.

We caught up with a few of the fifth graders about the importance of the fair.

"It's probably important because you need to know what career and what to take in college, to know what you want to do," said Raegan Porter.

"[This is important] so I can get a head start, so what I want to do and so I don't have to decide at the last minute," said Jayla Waters.

The school says they continue to do this at such an early age because it helps students understand the concepts of work.
