DE Fire Marshals Investigate Laurel Structure Fire

LAUREL, Del. - The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says they are currently investigating a fire that severely damaged a vacant structure.

According to reports, the blaze occurred in the 200 block of East 6th Street, and was reported at 2:36 AM. The Laurel Fire Department, assisted by Delmar, Sharptown, Blades, Georgetown, and Gumboro Volunteer Fire Companies reportedly extinguished the flames. Officials say there were no injuries.

State fire investigators were reportedly called to the scene to determine the origin and cause of the fire.  Officials say the investigation is continuing and listed as pending determination at this time. 

Total fire loss was reportedly estimated at $200,000.
