SALISBURY, Md. - The rides and games weren't the only thing going on at the Salisbury Festival Saturday, at the SU art gallery, local artists were pitted against one another in a battle of the brushes.

Artists were given five hours to create art pieces, live, in front of festival-goers who got to vote for the one they liked best.

Marissa Sage, Manager of the gallery says "a lot of people come down here for some fried food and some rides, and they get to come in to check out the art and see what we're doing, and see people making art live."

For Jordan Suber, one of the artists, this is critical for the Salisbury community, "events like this, especially art in this community, is definitely needed just to broaden people's horizons."

Organizers say the event grew considerably this year, with ten artists and hundreds of spectators participating.
