$8M In Donations To Help Bring In New Programs At Wor-Wic

WICOMICO CO., Md. - Two new programs are heading to Wor-Wic Community College all thanks to some hefty donations.

The school announced on Friday $8 million were raised, even with a single donation coming in at $1.5 million. The donors were honored by Wor-Wic with renaming the old Workforce Development Center to Fulton-Owen Hall.

One program immediately benefiting from the money: the brand-new occupational therapy degree, which will start up in the fall. The other program, physical therapy, is expected to take about a year before it starts up.

"These areas are important for people who have needs for support for physical and occupational therapy. These are careers that there are jobs locally available, good paying jobs, family sustaining jobs," said president Dr. Ray Hoy.
