Salisbury, MD - The Delmarva Shorebirds lost the series
opener with the Charleston RiverDogs, 6-0 on Thursday night. The Shorebirds offense never got on track as they were limited to just 5 hits on the night.
The night belonged to Caleb Smith, who finished going six scoreless innings, while striking out an incredible 13 batters. As for the RiverDogs at the plate, they scored in each of the first 4 innings and quickly built up a 6-0 lead.
These two teams will be right back at it Friday night in game two of the four game series. The Shorebirds will be sending the right hander Sebatian Vader to the mound, while the RiverDogs will counter with Rookie Davis. First pitch is
scheduled for 7:05 pm at Perdue Stadium.
