PRINCESS ANNE, Md. –- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball team came up short Wednesday to George Washington, 14-1. The loss is the fifth consecutive for UMES since Saturday after the squad posted a three-game winning streak through the middle of last week.
UMES was sloppy from the start, and finished the game with 8 errors. The Patriots would take advantage of those errors, and score early and often. As the innings wore on, so did the runs for George Mason as they piled on three more in the third.
The Hawks offense never got going in this one, as UMES took the loss. The Hawks will take two days off before traveling to Coppin State to resume its Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schedule on Saturday, April 26.
