AIRFAX, Va. –The University of Maryland Eastern Shore softball had another tough outing as they were swept by George Mason University 15-0 and 8-0. With both losses, the Lady Hawks fell to 7-35 overall whereas the Patriots improved to 21-16 on the season.
In Game One, George Mason held Maryland Eastern Shore to three hits. The Patriots offense however was clicking on all cylinders. After scoring two runs in the first, the Patriots tallied six runs in the third to take a commanding lead, 8-0. That would prove to be more than enough.
In the night cap, the Patriots kept pouring it on the Hawks. George Mason would grab a 1-0 lead in the first, and then push their lead to 7-0 by the third.
Now UMES is preparing to travel to Baltimore to face the Lady Bears of Morgan State University (MSU) in their final road series of the season. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1:00 p.m. (EST) while Sunday's single seven-inning contest takes place at noon (EST).
