More Than 170 Signs Set To Enforce Smoking Ban In Rehoboth

Posted: Updated:
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. - 171 signs are going up to enforce a smoking ban in Rehoboth.

Bill Sargent, a city commissioner, says the signs will go on the beach and boardwalk. He also says there will be signs to designate the 20 locations where smoking will be allowed this summer, 4 locations where smoking will be allowed during the winter.

The ban officially goes into effect May 15th. First-time offenders will reportedly just get a warning, but police will take down their information to look out for repeat offenders who could face fines.
