No To Fracking: Group Set To Deliver 2,200 Petitions to MD Senators

Posted: Updated:
BALTIMORE, Md. - Thousands of petitions are set to land on the desks of two Maryland U.S. Senators asking them to say no to fracking.

Fracking is the process of injecting liquid at high pressure into subterranean rocks to extract oil or gas. In southern Maryland, there's a proposed $3.8 billion plant called Cove Point, worrying groups about increasing the process on U.S. soil.

Now, they are delivering more than 2,000 to the offices of Senators Ben Cardin and Barbara Mikulski. Sen. Cardin's office denies receiving letters so far.
