Oscar Mayer Recalling Hot Dogs Due To Undeclared Allergen

Posted: Updated:
MARYLAND - A company has recalled a type of hot dogs, after they apparently left an allergen off of the ingredient list. Giant Food says they have removed Kraft Foods hot dogs from their shelves, because packages of Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners may contain Classic Cheese Dogs. These products are reportedly not labeled as containing milk, which is an allergen. The product is apparently safe to consume for those who are not allergic to milk.

The following products are included in this recall:

· Oscar Mayer Classic Wieners, 16 oz., UPC 04470000063, with use by date of 16 Jun 2014

Giant says they haven't received any reports of illness, but the products could cause an reaction for those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk, if they eat the hot dogs. Customers who bought the product should throw away any unused portions, and bring a purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.

Contact Kraft Consumer Relations at 855-688-4386 for more information, or Giant Customer Service at 1-888-469-4426, or the Giant Food website.
