RENO, Nev. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's bowling team capped off another tremendous season by taking home fifth place at the United State Bowling Congress's Intercollegiate Team Championships. Over the past few seasons, the Hawks have had a incredible run in the tournament. UMES fell to the fifth seeded Grand View, a NAIA school from Des Moines, Iowa.
In the match, the Hawks dug themselves a big hole early, falling behind the Viking 3-0. But to their credit they would battle back from there, taking the 4th game in dominate fashion, 215-156. From there, UMES would continue its strong play, taking the 5th game 187-178.
In a decisive 6th game, neither team would be able to create much separation. Eventually, the Vikings would pull away for a 203-188 win, earning the 4-2 win.
