Greensboro, NC - The Delmarva Shorebirds got back to .500 with a 3-1 win on the road over the Greensboro Grasshoppers. The win is the Shorebirds third in a row, as strong pitching has lead the way their past few outings.
Entering the game, Delmarva had gone 22 straight innings without surrendering a run, and starting pitcher Steven Brault would keep that streak going.Brault pitched a gem, recording 7 IP (career-high), 0 R, 3 H, 2 BB and 9 K (career-high). He would pass the ball over in the 8th with a 2-0 lead.
Jon Keller would come on in relief, and in the 8th give up the Grasshoppers only run of the night off a RBI groundout. He would shut the door in the 9th though, and give the Shorebirds their third straight win.
The Shorebirds 7-7 record moves them into a tie for second place with Greensboro in the South Atlantic League Northern conference, and pulls them to within 3 games of the first place Suns.
