SALISBURY, Md. - Our good news comes from St. Francis de Sales.
A dozen fifth graders went out to the Wicomico River with trash bags in hand to help clean-up the area. The kids spent the morning picking up empty bottles, plastic forks, cup and plates all to help the environment.
"We're seeing a lot of dead fish and dead animals and that's not really good," said 10-year-old Anna Swierkosz.
"This is our home. We're just up the street from the river so we want to take pride," said principal Rob Constante.
"I would think that more people would come down here and clean up but there's a lot [of trash] so we're going to do our best," said 11-year-old Callie McLaughlin.
This was a service project for Earth Day, which is actually on Tuesday, but the school is on Spring Break next week.
