Large Drug Bust In Cambridge Lands One Man Behind Bars

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A Cambridge man was arrested on Friday, on multiple drug charges.

The Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force searched a home on Moose Lodge Road, in Cambridge, and arrested Shannon Banks, also known as "Cutter," at the scene, he was reportedly the target of the investigation. Officials say Banks had a loaded handgun on him, during the arrest.

During the search of the home, Police say they seized cash, and real property valued over $300,000, along with a large amount of cocaine,  packaging, and items used to assist in the manufacturing and re-package of cocaine for sale. There was also a semi-automatic handgun and a shotgun seized in the raid, according to the report.

Banks was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of ammunition by a person prohibited from possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a regulated firearm by a person prohibited, possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a firearm with the serial number removed. He is being held on $500,000 bond.

The Dorchester County Narcotics Task Force is made up of Maryland State Police and Dorchester County Deputies. The Task Force was assisted by the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office, Maryland State Police, and the Dorchester County State's Attorney's Office.
