HARRINGTON, Del. - A Greenwood man was charged with his reported sixth driving under the influence charge over the weekend.

Harrington Police say on Saturday, around 9:10 PM, Officers responded to a reported hit and run crash on Delaware Avenue, where an unknown vehicle had apparently hit a parked car, and fled. According to the report, the suspect vehicle was leaking fluids as it fled, which allowed Officers to follow a trail from the accident, to Gateway Farms, on Raughley Hill Road, where they also found 38-year-old Mark Kohout Jr..

Officers say they smelled alcohol while speaking with Kohout, and administered field sobriety tests, after which he was taken to Harrington Police for processing. Police say Kohout had five previous DUI convictions, dating back to 1996.

He was charged with 6th offense driving under the influence, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to have insurance identification in possession, failure to have registration in possession, failure to report a collision involving accident or drugs and failure to remain in a single lane. He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institute on $13,500 bond.
