Salisbury City Officials Set To Discuss Mayor, Council Pay

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - Pay increases will be up for discussion at Monday's city council meeting in Salisbury.

According to reports, council members are looking at a proposed 12 percent increase in pay for Mayor Jim Ireton and the city's council members. This would reportedly increase Mayor Ireton's salary by $3,000, council president Jake Day's salary by $1,440, and other council members by $1,200.

If the recommendations pass, they could reportedly become official by November 2015, but Day tells 47 ABC he does not expect the measure to pass a first reading.
