SALISBURY, Md. - Local performers are hoping to inspire Salisbury to stop the violence.
Fenix Youth Project, a group campaigning against youth violence, invited performers with Delaware's Diamond State Entertainment to show positive talent to the city of Salisbury.
Proceeds from the event will go to Stop the Violence, a non-profit that offers a safe haven to the youth most vulnerable to adopting a life of violence, or becoming a victim of it.
"It's an awesome feeling because you ultimately want to be able to give back to your community," says Chastity Thompson with Diamond State Entertainment. "We travel all over and we do a lot of charity events trying to build every community. Every community should be anyone's community."
Stop the Violence currently operates out of the Calloway Street Gym in Salisbury. For more information on their efforts, visit their Facebook page.
